Bo Byloos works for the Luxembourgish Space Agency (LSA) as manager for Exploration and Science, responsible for following on Luxembourgish actors active in the field of commercial use of microgravity. Before starting at LSA, she worked as a project manager at Johnson and Johnson focusing on optimizing bioreactor technology within the clinical supply chain. In addition, she also worked at the Luxembourgish startup company Blue Horizon developing a bioreactor for life support and recycling of resources present on the Moon or Mars as well as for soil revitalization in Burkina Faso. In 2013, she received a scholarship from the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK-CEN) to pursue her PhD at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering of Ghent University, investigating the use of a bioreactor for in situ resource utilization using microbes and basalt in space (in the frame of the ESA BIOROCK ISS flight experiment).
