Sirisha BANDLA

Outpost • Astronaut; Chief of Staff

Sirisha Bandla is a Commercial Space Flight professional and currently serves as Chief of Staff at Outpost – a space technology company founded in the United States and based in Los Angeles, focused on developing in space services, advanced manufacturing, and precision logistics from orbit.

Most recently, Sirisha was Vice President of Government Affairs and Research Operations at Virgin Galactic, overseeing legislative, regulatory, and government business priorities, as well as coordinating research customer projects to fly science and technology experiments on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShip-class vehicles. She flew to space as part of the Unity22 crew in 2021, the company’s first fully crewed spaceflight.

Previously, Sirisha served as Associate Director for the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, working on policies to promote and enable the emerging commercial space industry. Before that, she worked as an aerospace engineer designing advanced aircraft components at L-3 Communications in Greenville, Texas.

Sirisha holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from George Washington University. She serves on the Brooke Owens Fellowship Program and the Future Space Leaders Foundation, and on the Advisory Council for The Planetary Society. She also helped organize the Matthew Isakowitz Fellowship Program, providing internship and mentorship opportunities for students passionate about commercial spaceflight.
