Kyunghwan Kim works on human factors research and operational simulation for lunar plant cultivation modules at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and with the Team Human Spaceflight Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His work focuses on operator task performance, movement behaviour, workload, procedure design, and human-system interaction during intravehicular activities. He also contributes to space analogue and lunar module design development work with South Korea-based Moonleap Space Systems and France-based Expedition Ambitions, and serves as a judge for the 2026 Deep Space Food Challenge.
