Özgür ÖZMEN

Turkish Air Force Space Command • Commander

Colonel Özgür ÖZMEN serves as the Commander of the Turkish Air Force Space Command, appointed on September 7, 2026. An experienced officer and pilot, Colonel Özmen has over 20 years of background in military aviation, operational planning, and aerospace defense systems.

Graduating from the Air Force Academy in 2003, he completed his Air Defense Officer training in 2005. He holds a Master of Science degree in Space Systems from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT, USA), specializing in space platform architectures and orbital operations.

Throughout his career, Colonel Özmen has held key command and staff positions across major operational units, including the 8th Main Jet Base, 2nd Main Jet Base, and the 11th and 12th Air Transport Main Base Commands. He also served extensively within the Air Force Headquarters Operational Planning and Project Management Directorates.*

As a pilot, he holds 3000 total flight hours, primarily commanding CN-235 Casa and Gulfstream G-550 transport platforms.
