Working for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), Jill Smyth is Director for Space Exploration Planning, Coordination and Advanced Concepts. Her role is to identify, plan and prepare Canada’s participation in future national and international space exploration missions. Prior to this position, Jill has served as Counselor for Space Affairs at the Embassy of Canada to the United States where she supported Canada-U.S. cooperation in areas such as space exploration, Earth sciences, as well as space science. Since starting her career at the CSA in 2000, Jill has held various positions, namely in the Earth observation program. She holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in geography with a specialization in remote sensing.
