Tommaso graduated in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2005 and earned his PhD from the same institution in 2009, defending a thesis on plasma thruster modeling under the guidance of Prof. Mariano Andrenucci. In 2024, he completed an Executive MBA at the Bologna Business School, focusing on business strategy, supply chain management, and emerging key technologies.

Over more than twenty years in the space propulsion sector, Tommaso has led the development of multiple propulsion systems, including the first Italian Hall thruster operated in space, successfully launched by Sitael in 2023. He currently serves as Head of Electric Propulsion at ArianeGroup, overseeing the qualification and commercial deployment of Radiofrequency Ion Thrusters.

ArianeGroup is a leading European aerospace company that serves as the prime contractor for Europe's Ariane 6 launch vehicle. Orbital propulsion systems are also a core business, delivering reliable in-space mobility for a wide range of space platforms. A joint venture between Airbus and Safran, the company employs approximately 8,700 people across France and Germany.
