Temidayo ONIOSUN

Space in Africa • Managing Director

Dr. Temidayo Oniosun is a space scientist, entrepreneur, and investor, widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in Africa’s growing space ecosystem. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Space in Africa, the continent’s leading analytics and consulting firm in the space and satellite sector.

Dr. Oniosun currently serves as a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center, where he leads work on African space policy, and is a Research Affiliate at the MIT Media Lab. He is also a Council Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Space Technologies.

He has led major consulting projects for the African Union Commission, European Commission, and national space agencies across Africa, and is the convener of the NewSpace Africa Conference, the most significant gathering of stakeholders in the African space industry. A dedicated ecosystem builder, Dr. Oniosun is also an active angel investor, backing more than 40 African startups across sectors such as climate tech, data, logistics, and fintech. His work has been recognized globally by Forbes Africa 30 Under 30, Karman Fellowship, and media platforms including CNN, BBC, and Al Jazeera.

He holds a B.Tech in Meteorology from the Federal University of Technology Akure, an MSc in Satellite Applications from the University of Strathclyde (UK), and a PhD from the University of Delaware (USA).
