Ulrike (aka Uli) is an aviation and space lawyer who spent the summer participating in the ISU Space Studies Programme 2024 in Space City, Houston. She previously worked as a Legal Counsel at Ryanair’s headquarters in Dublin and is now involved in legal research for different space projects. She holds a German law degree, a Bachelor's degree in International Legal Studies, and a Master's degree in International and Comparative Law with a specialization in aviation law. Uli has authored her theses and several seminar papers focusing on space law topics and has participated in the ECSL summer course on space law and policy. Now, she is a dedicated advocate for enabling, building, and improving a space ecosystem in Ireland.

Apart from her space journey, Uli has a passion for winter sports, running, and the outdoors. When not preparing for an analog astronaut mission, she spends her time planning her next mountain climb or participating in endurance races such as the world’s longest cross-country skiing and the world’s longest ice skating races. Growing up in Germany, she also lived in New Zealand and the UK before settling in Ireland, and she continues to explore different parts of the world. In her free time, Uli also loves to volunteer for different projects and is an active member of sports clubs and several space communities, such as the SGAC.

Most importantly, Uli is excited about engaging with as many inspiring and like-minded individuals as possible and getting involved in new, exciting projects.
