Angelique Van Ombergen

Angelique Van Ombergen graduated with a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. She continued her research on spaceflight-induced brain changes during a postdoc and is still currently affiliated to the University of Antwerp as visiting professor. She joined the European Space Agency in 2019 and is currently working as the Team Lead for Human Exploration Science, overseeing a portfolio of activities in biology, human physiology, and psychology over a wide range of ground and space platforms. She is an avid science communicator and has published several non-fiction children’s books that have been all translated in several languages. She has been recognized and awarded for both her scientific work and outreach activities.
