Prof. Christina Wong is the Director of Research and Innovation in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). She is leading the Research and Innovation Office of PolyU to propel the University’s research development, to provide all-rounded support to facilitate research endeavours within the PolyU community, and to foster partnerships among universities, industries, governments, supranational bodies, and the public.

As a professor in the School of Fashion and Textiles, Prof. Wong is recognised as an expert in addressing organisational environmental and social issues. She was entrusted with the development of the Blended Fabric Risk Assessment Index for the fashion industry. Prof. Wong's distinguished reputation in sustainability practices research is reflected in several prestigious accolades. She was named a Research Grants Council Senior Research Fellow for 2024/25. She also received the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship for 2017/18, one of only five scholars recognised for their significant contributions to the field. She is ranked among the top 1% of scientists in Asia and the top 2% globally in Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists Report.

Prof. Wong has secured research funding from various bodies in Hong Kong, Mainland China, the UK, Austria, Canada and Thailand. These funds support projects examining the performance values of various sustainability practices and their related factors. As an active member of the academic community, Prof. Wong serves in various editorial and administrative roles, contributing to the advancement of the field and the effective functioning of her university.
