Ángel Ramírez is the founder and President of GTD, a key European engineering and technology group. He is also Member of the Board in CELERES, former GTD Space & Security, one of the main software systems engineering actors in the global space ecosystem. He graduated with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1980.

Mr. Ramírez began his career with IBM, spending nearly seven years as a Project Manager. In 1987, he founded GTD in Barcelona. The group specialises in systems integration, complex engineering, and advanced software solutions for highly demanding sectors and applications.

Under his strategic direction, GTD has expanded its technological portfolio by launching highly specialised companies. In 2021, the group co-founded Openchip, a joint initiative with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center to advance high-performance chip design. During the same year, Grupo GTD also backed LuxQuanta, a spin-off from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) focusing on quantum key distribution and secure communications.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ramírez has actively driven innovation in the space and high-tech sectors, and continues to do so by fostering strategic partnerships with institutions, governments, and key industry leaders.
