Claudiu Mihai Taiatu

International Space University (ISU)SSP/SHSSP Academic Coordinator

Claudiu Mihai Taiatu is currently working in the space education sector, having a very dynamic and task intensive job as Academic Coordinator at the International Space University (ISU) for the Space Studies Program (SSP) and Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program (SHSSP).

Related to space activities, Claudiu graduated from the IIASL Adv. LL.M. at Leiden University in 2017, from ISU SSP18 and he is currently enrolled in the Master of Science (MSc) at ISU, as a modular student, which he started in 2023.

Claudiu has extensive research experience in space law and policy topics at international level, which he gained through high-level research internships, and scholarships at international level with the space industry, government/United Nations and academia. Claudiu is a Member of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) and a Scientific Adviser and Content Manager at the IISL Knowledge Constellation. Also, he is a member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Workforce Development-Young Professionals Programme Committee (WD-YPP). Claudiu has volunteer experience from ISU as Teaching Associate, and also at SGAC, IISL and IAF.

Claudiu received awards and recognitions at international level, among which the following: (1) the IISL - 2017 Isabella H.Ph. Diederiks-Verschoor award for his research contribution to the field of Space Traffic Management (STM) (2) UNIDROIT Research Scholarship for researching at the famous UNIDROIT Library, coordinating with the ITU and publishing with Oxford University Press (3) the Secure World Foundation Scholarship for IAC19 (4) the ESA - ECSL award at the Worldwide Space Law Essay Competition “Legal Aspects Relating to Satellite Constellations” organized by ECSL, ESPI and DLR
