Patrick Gatlin

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) • Research Meteorologist

Dr. Gatlin is a thunderstorm remote sensing scientist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center where he leads basic and applied research on atmospheric electricity and precipitation science, as well as the development of novel satellite-based lightning observing technology and missions. He has been involved with NASA’s GPM, INCUS, and ISS LIS satellite missions and is the lead NASA collaborator on the Australian-led IGNIS field campaign to study lightning that ignites bushfires.
