Mauro Augelli

UK Space Agency • Head of Systems Engineering

Dr Mauro Augelli is the Head of Systems Engineering in the Office of the Chief Engineer at the UK Space Agency. With nearly 30 years of experience, including 21 years at CNES, the French Space Agency, Mauro has served as a Launcher Technical Officer for European launchers, a GNC Specialist, Flight Dynamics Team Leader, and Flight Director for the five missions of the European Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) to the International Space Station. Following the completion of these missions, he assumed the role of Manager of the French User Support and Operations Centre (CADMOS), responsible for European payload and mission operations on the ISS. Prior to his tenure at CNES, Mauro worked for four years with the Italian Space Agency (ASI), contributing to launcher development and nuclear propulsion initiatives. He holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa and Sup’Aéro in France, as well as a PhD in Space Propulsion and Combustion Instabilities.
