Dr. Christopher L. Williams is an American physicist, medical physicist, and NASA astronaut. Born in New York City in 1983, he earned a degree in physics from Stanford University and a PhD in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he conducted research in astrophysics and radio cosmology.

Before joining NASA, Williams worked in medical physics at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he contributed to the development of MRI-guided radiation therapy for cancer treatment.

Selected as a NASA astronaut in 2021, Williams completed his first spaceflight aboard the International Space Station as a flight engineer for Expeditions 73/74. He launched aboard Soyuz MS-28 in November 2025 and returned to Earth in July 2026, contributing to scientific research and technology demonstrations in orbit.
