Ms. Rasha Al Amad is the Chief of Strategic Planning & Projects at the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA). She has been with the Agency since its establishment, and her responsibilities include developing the National Space Policy and Strategies in close partnership with stakeholders, aligning them with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the space sector, and overseeing their implementation. She oversees institutional planning, performance tracking, risk management, and resource optimization to support the advancement of the Agency’s mission and strategic objectives.

Ms. Al Amad plays a pivotal role in strengthening international partnerships to advance the BSA's strategic goals through the exchange of expertise, facilitating access to shared resources, building national capacity, raising community awareness, implementing joint projects and research initiatives, and enabling the Agency’s accession to international organizations and active participation in global conferences and forums.

Ms. Al Amad is actively mentoring the next generation of space leaders as a Mentor in the 2026 IPMC Young Professionals Leadership Development Programme, guiding participants on Project Lifecycle and Schedule Management. She is also a contributing author to multiple peer-reviewed publications presented at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), including seminal works on strategic planning, space sustainability, and knowledge management for emerging space nations. Her current engagements include membership in the Artemis Accords Working Groups and continued leadership as Chair of the Arab Space Strategy Subcommittee under the Arab Space Cooperation Group.

Her contributions have earned her the “National Action First Class Medal”, awarded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in recognition of her outstanding achievements in advancing Bahrain’s space sector.

Ms. Al Amad holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Concordia University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She actively represents Bahrain in multiple international space organizations and working groups.

Prior to joining BSA in 2016, she accumulated over a decade of executive experience across the education and private sectors, developing expertise in corporate strategy, project management, and business transformation.
