Anke PAGELS-KERP

Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR)Divisional Board Member for Space

Anke Pagels-Kerp was appointed Divisional Board Member for Space in October 2021. She is responsible for the research and development program of DLR's 22 space research institutes. 'She holds a degree in physics from the University of Bonn and wrote her PhD thesis at the Max-Planck Institute for Radioastronomy in Bonn, Germany. Before joining the German Aerospace Center DLR, she worked as a research scientist at the FGAN-Institute for Radar and High-frequency Physics related to the German MoD.' From 2016 to 2021, she led the 'Space Exploration' department at the German Space Agency at DLR. In this position, she was responsible for the Agency's research program and space program missions in the areas of solar system research, astronomy and astrophysics. Previously, she worked as a scientist in the Satellite Communications department and was the project manager responsible for the German contribution to the European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS).
