Enrico Chesta

Enrico Chesta coordinates Aerospace and Environmental Applications at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.

He holds a double engineering degree from École Centrale Paris and Politecnico di Torino, as well as an executive MBA from ESC Toulouse.

In his early career he has worked as a researcher in plasma physics at Stanford University and as a spacecraft propulsion engineer at CNES (Centre National d’Études Spatiales) and ESA (European Space Agency), contributing to several missions for exploration (SMART-1), science (Microscope) and telecommunications (AlphaBus).

In 2010, he joined CERN as Head of the Technology Transfer and IP Management Section within the Knowledge Transfer Group. Over the years, he has worked on solutions related to space science and space sustainability, on policies to frame access to CERN test facilities for industrial and societal applications, and he launched the CIPEA (CERN Innovation Programme on Environmental Applications).
